NYC 22 to premiere in April on CBS

Snagging the 10PM Sunday night time slot, CBS welcomes NYC 22, a new TV show from Tribeca Productions (Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal). duotone’s Peter Nashel and Pete Miser partnered with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to create a tense, hip hop-influenced underscore.

Project highlights include remixing Dr. John’s “Right Place, Wrong Time” and working with the legendary Pete Rock. This fresh cop drama follows six diverse NYPD rookies through the streets of upper Manhattan. The premiere is scheduled to air on April 15th. Nick Jr. weekly pick – Bubble Guppies “At the Zoo”

Here’s one for the kids — congrats to duotoner Aaron Mirman for composing this fantastically catchy song “At The Zoo” for the popular kid’s TV show Bubble Guppies. After airing as part of this week’s new episode, “The Lonely Rhino”, the song was featured as a top weekly pick on the Nick Jr. homepage! The show premiered in 2011 and quickly became the top-rated pre-school series on TV.

“Adele was no doubt the star of last night’s Grammys, taking home six awards. And although Coldplay performed at the event, the band’s live performance was overshadowed by Chipotle’s “Back to the Start” ad, which featured Willie Nelson covering Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist’.”

Sunday night’s Grammys on CBS were peppered with duotone flavor — Chipotle branded short film “Back to the Start” (music supervision by duotone) aired for the first time on television in the middle of the awards show, shortly followed by a promo for the forthcoming primetime TV show NYC 22 (score by duotoners Peter Nashel and Pete Miser). Also Sunday night, Kevin Smith’s brand new show “Comic Book Men” (score by duotone) premiered on AMC. It was a big night!

Swamp People enters Season 3

The History Channel’s hit show Swamp People, now entering its third season, takes you deep into Louisiana’s gator hunting territory. The season premiered on Thursday to a total of 4.7 million people, with score cues by duotone and killer theme music by duotone’s Brian Deming. Kevin Smith’s Comic Book Men on AMC

AMC’s new unscripted series “Comic Book Men”, scored by duotone, premiers on Sunday (2/12). The show draws you into the world of a New Jersey comic book shop run by Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy). Jingle Bells for Nick Jr.

It’s that time of year again–time to celebrate and spread the holiday cheer–and duotone is playing its part by teaming up with Nick Jr to revamp the holiday classic “Jingle Bells” and bring it into 2010. duotone composer Aaron Mirman rearranged the song to give it a modern, upbeat vibe, and brought in kid singers to record vocals with new, Nick-centric lyrics. Thespot is running through the holidays and features characters from a number of Nick Jr’s shows such as Dora the Exporer, Team Umizoomi, Backyardigans and more. Click on the left to watch. “Swamp People” makes History Channel #1

The  series premiere of the History Channel’s new show “Swamp People”, with music by duotone composer Brian Deming, was a HIT.  ”Swamp People” was the highest rated premiere in the History Channel’s existence and drove the History Channel to #1 in cable for the 10-11pm time slot.   It was one of the top 10 shows in cable last week.

Rubicon Premiere is a Hit

AMC’s new series Rubicon, scored by duotone’s Peter Nashel, became the network’s highest-rated AND most-watched original series premiere EVER, attracting 2 million viewers.  For comparison, Mad Men averaged 900,000 viewers and Breaking Bad 1.2 million viewers their first seasons.  ”AMC is now three for three with our original series,” said Charlie Collier, president and GM of AMC.  Rubicon, which moves to its regular Sunday 9 PM time slot next week, had already been sampled by 4.6 million viewers via the network’s sneak peek on-air as well as on VOD, iTunes, and Hulu.

Rubicon is a political show that revolves around a secret society that uses conspiracy and espionage to create a suspenseful tone that has been described as “intriguingly enigmatic.”  The new show, scored by duotone’s Pete Nashel, is set to premiere in August 2010.
